Titled Interstellar, the critical and commercial hit was theatrically released in the US on November 5, 2014, and in the UK two days later. Since then, it has found its way to multiple streaming homes, both at home and abroad, and most of which have seen the film quickly become a sensation once more, reviving its winning streak.
Most recently, Interstellar has made a major comeback on the US iTunes charts, ranking among the top five most-watched movies in the country. The phenomenal epic is also trending internationally on the platform in parts of Europe and Asia, including Armenia, Belarus, Cyprus, Lebanon, and Jordan, among others. Additionally, Interstellar is becoming all the rage on Amazon Prime in the UK as well as on HBO Max in other parts of Europe.
Featured in Interstellar is an ensemble cast led by Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Bill Irwin, Ellen Burstyn, and Michael Caine. It was directed by Nolan, who co-wrote the screenplay with his brother Jonathan Nolan, who had developed the script since 2007, with Steven Spielberg originally set to direct. Interstellar is set in Earth's future, where the planet is suffering from catastrophic blight and famine, slowly rendering it uninhabitable. Because of this, a group of astronauts must travel through a wormhole and across the galaxy in search of a new home for humankind.
