A prominent WWE couple recently opened up about a romantic milestone that briefly felt like a scene from a crime thriller. On December 26, 2024, NXT stars Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo and Arianna Grace announced their engagement in Paris, France, sharing photos of the moment in front of the Eiffel Tower.

Nearly one year later, the couple reflected on the experience during an interview with The Wrestling Classic, revealing that the elaborate proposal almost went off the rails. Stacks admitted that despite his best efforts to keep the plan a secret, Grace likely knew what was coming.

"I think she knew, no matter how much you want to try and keep it a secret. I wanted to make it special, Paris is very special to her, and I can only hide so much," Stacks said.

Grace confirmed she had a strong suspicion, noting that the timing of the trip made it an obvious opportunity.

"I was hoping to God that he would because if there was a time it’s literally now. Like it’s literally now or never," Grace said.

However, the coordination of the surprise led to a moment of genuine panic. Stacks explained that he had arranged for a local coordinator to help set up the proposal spot. When they arrived at the designated coordinates, the situation took a sudden and aggressive turn that confused both of them.

"And then this lady just comes out of nowhere and just blindfolds her and takes her hostage. And I’m like, ‘Dude, I didn’t pay for this package. What is this? This wasn’t the plan.’ And she’s like, ‘Quick, we got to run,'" Stacks said.

Grace, who was blindfolded during the chaos, feared the worst.

"I was nervous because I thought, what if he thought that he had purchased some engagement package, but we were getting kidnapped, and he just didn’t know. I was like, I really hope we’re not getting robbed and kidnapped now because I have a blindfold on," Grace said.

Stacks noted that he also briefly thought they "might be getting kidnapped," but the urgency was simply to catch the Eiffel Tower while it was shimmering. Once they arrived, the scene was exactly as Stacks had hoped, featuring fireworks, a saxophone player, and a harp—though the band did mistake his request for Hilary Duff's "What Dreams Are Made Of" and played a different song instead.

Currently, both stars remain active figures on the NXT brand as 2025 draws to a close. Stacks is the current NXT Heritage Cup Champion, a title he won in June 2025, while Grace continues to serve as the on-screen liaison between NXT and TNA Wrestling.
