The new Apple TV science-fiction series Pluribus has held on to the number one spot on the streamer's viewership charts every single day since its release, proving that anything creator Vince Gilligan touches becomes an instant must-see event. Not only has Pluribus been hailed as a majestic achievement in television, the show's popularity has seemingly inspired audiences to revisit Gilligan's masterpiece, Breaking Bad. The crime drama witnessed a surge in viewership around the time of Pluribus' debut, and it even became the number one show on the domestic iTunes charts for a while, according to FlixPatrol. Breaking Bad ran for five seasons between 2008 and 2013 during the Golden Age of Television, which also produced landmark hits such as Mad Men, Game of Thrones, and Dexter.

Breaking Bad followed a mild-mannered chemistry teacher who, after being diagnosed with a terminal illness, begins "cooking" meth to support his family after he's gone. But his noble intentions run out quite soon; once he tastes the blood, he becomes obsessed with it. Breaking Bad is often listed among the greatest, if not the greatest, television dramas of all time. It received near-unanimous praise for the entire duration of its run, with the writing, performances, and delicate tone being highlighted as its biggest draws. The show's success also re-introduced Malcolm in the Middle star Bryan Cranston to a new generation of audiences, and continues to earn him roles in major films. As Cranston's co-lead, Aaron Paul emerged as a fan-favorite, and eventually headlined a spin-off film titled El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, which debuted on Netflix.

'Pluribus' Opened to the Best Reviews of Vince Gilligan's Career

A prequel series, Better Call Saul, was released to critical acclaim in 2015. The show traced the origin story of Bob Odenkirk's shady lawyer from Breaking Bad, and ran for six successful seasons. Like Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, which hold 96% and 98% scores on Rotten Tomatoes, respectively, Pluribus has also opened to widespread acclaim. The new show, which reunites Gilligan with actor Rhea Seehorn, is currently sitting at a 99% score on RT, where the critics' consensus reads, "Genuinely original science-fiction fare from television veteran Vince Gilligan, Pluribus leads Rhea Seehorn through a brave new world with plentiful returns."

You can watch all three shows at home, and stay tuned to Collider for more updates.
