Jujutsu Kaisen's sequel manga hasn't only reignited fan interest with its fascinating plot about coexistence with a powerful alien refugee race, but also because the author, Gege Akutami, finally has enough space to address the loose ends in the original story. One of the things fans are eager for the manga to revisit is the domain expansion of Yuji Itadori.

One of the most debated and complex elements of Jujutsu Kaisen is the Domain Expansions, the ultimate expression of power among sorcerers. Therefore, most fans found it strange that Jujutsu Kaisen's author chose to brush off the details of Yuji's ultimate technique so easily. Fortunately, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo has paved the way to reveal the true power of Yuji's Domain Expansion.

Jujutsu Kaisen Fans Still Don’t Know the Full Power of Yuji’s Domain Expansion

Having mastered the basics of barriers training with Kusakabe, Yuji Itadori used Domain Expansion in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter #264. It's implied that Itadori imbued the domain with Sukuna's innate technique, "Dismantle," engraved within him, allowing him to target the boundary between souls. This means his domain gives Yuji's Dismantle a guaranteed-hit formula and doesn't require direct contact to activate its effect.

This makes Yuji's domain similar to Mahito's Self-Embodiment of Perfection. However, not only was the official name of the domain expansion not revealed, but the manga also leaves its functioning up to fans' interpretation and doesn't even explain the memory landscape Yuji shows to Sukuna. The worst thing is that fans were unable to fully appreciate its potential.

Sukuna refers to Yuji's domain as superficial, since he was at his limit since deploying it consumed almost all of his cursed energy. It was a trump card designed to be effective against Sukuna, but it was underdeveloped at the time. Thankfully, the series has opened the possibility of Yuji using his Domain Expansion in a future battle.

Yuji Itadori’s Mysterious Domain Expansion Might Finally Get Answers in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo

Since Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo has teased Yuji Itadori's return on several occasions, he could showcase the full power of this domain expansion after decades of refining it. As Yuji's Domain Expansion can directly target souls, disrupting cursed energy output and dealing damage that can't be naturally healed through Reversed Cursed Technique, it makes it an incredibly dangerous technique.

Although the higher-ups of the sorcerer world are trying to locate Yuji to act as a deterrent against the Simurians, who are also talented at manipulating cursed energy and whose leader Dabura has been revealed as a special-grade sorcerer, it hasn't been revealed whether the aliens have mastered a domain expansion.

Yuji Itadori Will Need To Use His Domain Expansion Against Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo's Villain

Despite the ongoing diplomatic conflict between sorcerers and Simurians, everything points to the aliens not being the main villains in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo. Given that the story recently hinted at Mahito's return to the body, Yuji is likely to make an official appearance in Modulo to fulfill his promise and face him again.

Therefore, Yuji would need to use his Domain Expansion, as only soul damage is effective against Mahito. Even though Yuji currently has a minor role in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, given that Gege Akutami has been tying the unresolved plot points in the manga, it is possible that fans will finally get more details about his domain expansion.

That means there are plenty of reasons to be excited about future developments in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, as fans will be able to learn how Yuji stand against other powerful domains in the series.
