The weather played havoc with the girls’ basketball schedule Tuesday. Greensburg’s home game against Eastern Hancock was postponed and rescheduled for Jan. 6. East Central’s game at Jennings County was postponed one day.

South Decatur’s home game against Jac-Cen-Cel was also postponed with no reschedule date announced.

South Ripley 60, North Decatur 41

Host South Ripley improved to 6-2 on the season and halted North Decatur’s 3-game win streak with a 60-41 victory against the Lady Chargers Tuesday. North moves to 3-5 on the season.

The Lady Raiders led 20-14 after the first eight minutes of action and led 40-27 at the half. South Ripley put the game out of reach with an 11-2 third quarter to lead 51-29 heading to the final quarter.

Joe Whitaker led the Lady Chargers in scoring with 12 points to go with 12 rebounds, two blocks and three assists to complete her double-double performance.

Jewel Verseman tallied nine points, three rebounds and one assist. Libby Crawford finished with six points and three rebounds. Brooklyn White had five points, one rebound and three steals. Leonie Clemente added four points, four rebounds and two steals. Brynlee Green had three points, one rebound and one steal. Carmen Thackery added two points and a team-high seven assists. Norah Amberger grabbed one rebound.

The Lady Raiders were led by Kaiya Rinear with 20 points. Claire Samples finished with 19 points and Emily Parks had 10 points.

The JV contest went to the host Raiders 36-13.

Triton Central 55, Rushville 33

Looking for a third straight victory, Triton Central hit the road to face the Lady Lions of Rushville. After playing to a 9-9 tie at the end of the first quarter, the Lady Tigers pulled to a 7-point lead at the half.

Triton Central extended the lead to 14 by the end of the third quarter en route to the 55-33 victory.

With the win, the Lady Tigers improve to 4-2 on the season. The Lady Lions drop to 1-6.

Mikayla Herbert led the Lady Lions in scoring with 10 points. She also grabbed two rebounds. Kelsey Morgan added nine points, a team-high 10 rebounds and two assists. Charlotte Caviness chipped in with six points, one steal and two assists. Makenna Ripberger finished with five points, two blocks and three rebounds.

Lia Bohn had two points, one block, four rebounds and one assist. Charli Marcum hit a free throw for one point to go with seven rebounds and one assist. Becca Tabeling had three rebounds and one assist.

The Lady Lions host Yorktown (2-4) Thursday.

The junior varsity Lady Lions fell to Triton Central 44-26.

For the Lady Lions, Haylie Tucker scored eight points. Ryli Whaley finished with seven points, two rebounds and one steal. Emily Rouse had three points, four rebounds and three steals. Althea Tellas added three points and two rebounds. Jasmine Taylor scored three points. Elaine Angle scored two points. Jennifer Ballenger had three steals. Jerrica Taylor added three rebounds and two steals.
