Will Stein and the Kentucky Wildcats are officially on the clock when it comes to the school’s next offensive line coach.

When the Stein hire was first announced, the assumption was that most of Mark Stoops’ former staff would be replaced. That will be true with offensive line coach Eric Wolford, who is leaving Lexington to take a job with the LSU Tigers under new head coach Lane Kiffin.

ESPN Baton Rouge’s Matt Moscona broke the news first.

Wolford, who first became UK’s o-line coach in 2021 following the passing of program legend John Schlarman, left to take the same position at Alabama for two seasons before returning to Lexington in 2024. While his 2021 unit helped pave the way for a *10-win season, his last two units weren’t able to replicate that success, so it was best for both parties to move on, especially with Mark Stoops now out of the picture.

It may not be a coordinator position, but it’s imperative to find the right offensive line coach to help Stein implement an offense capable of going toe to toe with SEC defenses.
