The week 5 college basketball AP Poll was released Monday and BYU once again stayed put at 9. BYU is one of six Big 12 teams ranked along with Arizona (3), Houston (8), Iowa State (10), Texas Tech (19), and Kansas (21).

BYU went 2-0 last week with wins over Miami and Dayton in Orlando. Alabama fell below BYU in the rankings, but Michigan State leapfrogged the Cougs after a win over North Carolina pushed them to 7-0 on the season.

BYU has one game this week versus Cal Baptist in the Delta Center. Cal Baptist is 7-0 on the season and plays at Colorado tonight before heading to Salt Lake City. BYU’s final chance in non-conference play to materially move the needle is next week (December 9) when the travel to Madison Square Garden to play Clemson. The Tigers received 11 votes in this week’s AP Poll are are rated 26 in KenPom.
