The San Francisco Giants will have to spend a bit this winter to compete with the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West.

According to MLB Network insider Jon Morosi, the Giants are one of three teams specifically mentioned as being interested in top free agent Kyle Tucker. But the Giants will have to contend with both World Series clubs, the Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays.
Giants to pursue Kyle Tucker alongside Dodgers, Blue Jays
"Tucker is such an interesting case; the general industry thought is that he will not go back to the north side of Chicago, and so you wonder where he might go," Morosi said. "The Dodgers with interest, the Giants with interest, and the Blue Jays with interest.
With the Giants contending with two of MLB's top spending clubs in the Dodgers and Blue Jays, it won't be easy to land Tucker this winter.

With Rafael Devers, Matt Chapman, Willy Adames, and the rest of the offense, Tucker's addition would make the Giants' offense one of the best in Major League Baseball.
He hit .266 in 2025 with 4.6 bWAR and 22 home runs in a down season for the Chicago Cubs. When Tucker's at his best, he's one of the game's best outfielders with incredible pop and strong all-around hitting ability.

It won't be easy, but this report is some good news that the Giants are serious suitors for Tucker this winter.
