We wish there was something positive to write about the Cleveland Browns on the Monday after Week 13, but there just hasn’t been. The Browns were stomped by the San Francisco 49ers, with the only positives once again coming from their defensive unit. Special teams was anything but special and the offense once again struggled.
The future could be bright if Cleveland hits on the necessary premium positions in the 2026 NFL draft, but the history since The Return is far worse than any other team.

DT Maliek Collins has been lost for the season with a quad injury suffered on Sunday. OT Jack Conklin is in the concussion protocol, RB Dylan Sampson is day-to-day with a calf injury, and OL Wyatt Teller is week to week with his calf issue.
Collins is having a career year, his first in Cleveland, and will be a significantly missed part of the team’s dominant defensive line. Conklin and Teller have had a number of injuries that have kept them out or limited them in the last few years.
Injuries to these three veterans could open up more playing time for younger players to be evaluated, with Stefanski noting that Teller would miss Week 14, at least.
The rookie Sampson has gotten more work over the last two weeks after a good debut in Week 1. Given the team’s 3-9 record, the Browns should play it safe with the youngster.
