In an Instagram post shared on Tuesday by the @humanesocietytampa, the shelter shared a picture of the unlikely pet, a tarantula, which they described as gentle and sweet.
"MAYBE NOT FOR EVERYONE... BUT FOR THE RIGHT ONE. Meet Hallow, the Sweet Pink-Toed Tarantula Looking for a Loving Home! Hallow isn’t just any tarantula; she’s a cherished companion whose gentle personality has made her deeply loved.
"Due to her owner’s declining health, this beautiful girl is now searching for a new home where she can continue to be cared for with the same tenderness she’s always known."
...Before surrendering the pet, her previous owner shared lovely notes about her with the shelter: "She is very sweet and docile… she loves small crickets, fresh water, and warm misting. She enjoys being chatted to in soft voices."
Hallow truly thrives in a calm, gentle environment, the shelter added. "If you’ve been thinking about adding a special little friend to your life, Hallow is ready to bring her soft presence into a new home."
Regan Blessinger, marketing and public relations manager for the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, in Florida, told Newsweek that Hallow was adopted shortly after they posted about her and is doing very well in her new home.
"Her new owner, Kiana, said she ate crickets with no problem and has even begun to spin a new web in her enclosure, meaning she is feeling comfortable. She is going to take what her previous owner wrote and continue to give sweet and docile Hallow the life she deserves!"

The video quickly went viral on social media and it has so far received over 645 likes and 17 comments on the platform.
One user, Katieradio1, commented: "Today is the day I learned tarantulas have toes, aww sweet girl, I hope she finds her zen home soon!"
Simply.blessedbeyond, wrote: "I’m terrified of them, but I hope she finds her new owner to be kind and give her a beautiful life she deserves, just not at my home."
Zzzzztoken said: "Your post is so sweet, I love that HSTB can be counted on for more than just your average cats and dogs!"
