By Matthew CoudenShareNewsweek is a Trust Project memberWith a Thanksgiving NFL game looming, the Detroit Lions are counting on all of their weapons, both offensively and defensively, to help get a crucial win against their division rivals. The team takes on the Green Bay Packers on Thursday, and the stakes couldn't be higher, as teams won't just be fighting over postgame turkey and awards.
Both teams are battling for the NFC North, currently led by the 8-3 Chicago Bears. In addition, the NFL Playoffs are getting closer with each game, and Detroit is currently on the outside looking in at the Packers, currently projected as a No. 6 seed.
In the Lions' favor for their Thanksgiving matchup will be hosting Thursday's game and having a variety of offensive weapons. That includes receivers Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, and running backs David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs.
