The Oklahoma Sooners improved to 9-2 with last week's win over the Missouri Tigers, and they'll be back at home in Norman this week to face the LSU Tigers. OU is very likely to be in the College Football Playoff if they win on Saturday, but they'll miss the CFP if they lose this weekend.
As they have all season long, the Sooners will be counting on some impressive true freshmen to help them tame the Bayou Bengals. In a resurgent season for the program, Oklahoma has received key contributions from multiple first-year players in 2025, and that will need to continue again in Week 14.

1. Michael Fasusi, OL
Offensive lineman Michael Fasusi has enjoyed a really solid freshman season, and he's settled in to the role of OU's left tackle of the present and the future. He's got a ways to go as a pass-blocker, but he's shown really good promise as a run-blocker. Fasusi will have to be on point against the Tigers, as they've got a stingy defense that loves to get after the quarterback. Oklahoma needs a clean game from the true freshman protecting the blind side of quarterback John Mateer.
2. Ryan Fodje, OL
Offensive lineman Ryan Fodje has been a great addition for the Sooners in the trenches, and he's started every game at right tackle, beginning with the Ole Miss game. That means that with true freshmen bookending the offensive line, Oklahoma has beaten Tennessee, Alabama and Missouri in the month of November. Fodje still rotates out some with the veteran Derek Simmons during the course of a game, but he's getting a lot of reps on the right side. Similarly to Fasusi, OU needs Fodje in top form against a rugged Tiger defense.

Defensive back Courtland Guillory showed up at just the right time for Oklahoma. With injuries to Eli Bowen early in the year and Gentry Williams late in the year, Guillory has been healthy and solid at cornerback, regardless of who he's playing opposite of. In 2024 against LSU, the Sooner CBs got exposed against an excellent wide receiver group in Baton Rouge, and they can't afford to see that happen again this year. Guillory obviously wasn't a part of last year's road loss, but OU will once again need a solid performance from their freshman corner.
