2021 – The Mets, who only a few days ago hired Billy Eppler to be their new General Manager, have made a splash on the free agent market, according to news stories that claim that they have signed three free agents: OF Starling Marte, the reigning major league leader in stolen bases; OF/1B Mark Canha; and IF Eduardo Escobar. All three deals are pending physical exams, but when confirmed will total just short of $125 million.
