Lakers' Luka Doncic makes desperate four-word plea to NBA after near on-court disaster originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Los Angeles Lakers should be in good spirits heading into their Friday night contest against the Dallas Mavericks, as the franchise defeated the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday night to reach the knockout round of the NBA Cup (they didn’t advance past the group stage last season).

“Adjust the courts, please," Doncic told reporters after the Lakers’ 135-118 win over the Clippers.
"It’s just slippery. It’s dangerous.... I slipped a lot of times. You could see a lot of players slipped. That’s dangerous, man."
Doncic is not only looking out for himself, but also for every other NBA player competing in the NBA Cup. Doncic’s season could have ended on Thursday if one of his falls had resulted in a serious lower-body injury, which can also be said about the 19 other contributors who stepped on the hardwood with Doncic.

Hopefully, for the players’ sake, the NBA does the right thing and ensures the courts are safe moving forward.
