The Seattle Seahawks made a transaction on Tuesday. General manager John Schneider waived cornerback Derion Kendrick. Perhaps the Seahawks will attempt to get Kendrick back on the practice squad. He performed admirably when called into duty earlier this season.
The Seahawks originally claimed Kendrick off waivers in August. He joined the team from NFC West division rival Los Angeles Rams. It proved to be a shrewd addition.

Across those two weeks combined, Pro Football Focus credited Kendrick with allowing just four receptions on nine targets for 23 yards and zero touchdowns. He last played extensively in Week 5 when Witherspoon was hurt again, allowing just 14 yards in coverage.
The Seahawks have since gotten healthy at cornerback while shuffling their defensive alignments. Witherspoon has played more boundary cornerback in recent weeks. Instead of Kendrick reclaiming the available spot at nickel, rookie safety Nick Emmanwori has really thrived in a "BIG NICKEL" role. That made Kendrick expendable in Schneider's eyes.
Kendrick gave the Seahawks quality snaps earlier this season. Hopefully he'll resurface on the practice squad. It wouldn't be a surprise if a rival team added him to their roster.
