By Sam StevensonShareNewsweek is a Trust Project memberKroger customers across 18 states are being urged to check their homes for a list of products recalled in the last six months.
The products range from food and beverages to household goods, with several posing a risk of illness or injury.
Why It Matters
Recalls of food and consumer goods at major retailers like Kroger are crucial in protecting public health. Several of these recalls pose a risk of contamination by bacteria such as Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella, and Clostridium botulinum—all of which can cause serious illness or death.
Others address the presence of unexpected allergens, foreign materials like metal or wood, or fire hazards. Regular recall monitoring is essential to safeguard vulnerable consumers, including children, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems. The volume and diversity of recent recalls highlight persistent supply chain and manufacturing challenges facing the food and retail industry in 2025.
