The Iowa Hawkeyes (7-4, 5-3) will hit the road on Friday to face the Nebraska Cornhuskers (7-4, 4-4) at Memorial Stadium. Hawkeyes' coach Kirk Ferentz met with the media on Tuesday and was asked about Nebraska freshman quarterback TJ Lateef.

Lateef is starting in place of injured sophomore quarterback Dylan Raiola. On the season, the freshman has thrown for 653 yards and four touchdowns while completing 70.4% of his passes. He has also run for 96 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 3.7 yards per carry.

Lateef was a four-star quarterback for Orange Lutheran High School, a private school out of Orange, CA. In his senior season, he threw for 2,274 yards and 23 touchdowns while completing 71% of his passes.

Ferentz told the assembled press that Lateef's presence has changed Nebraska's offense.

We have a lot of good video on Lateef, and he's done a really nice job. He's out there playing well. They've changed a little bit offensively, but not dramatically. You still have to prepare. He's a really good football player. The other guy was just an unusual passer, very gifted, very talented passer. Aren't many guys in the country that can throw the ball like he did, but they've made that adjustment and shifted pretty fluidly, and it's not affected them at all.

The game will be the 56th meeting between these two programs. The Huskers lead the all-time series 30-22-3 with a record of 15-8-1 at Memorial Stadium.

Kirk Ferentz is 10-6 against the Huskers. Friday's game will kick off at 11 a.m. CT and can be seen on CBS.
