Right when he was hitting fine form, FC Barcelona lost Fermin Lopez to a muscle injury a little over a week ago.
The 22-year-old La Masia midfielder was sidelined with a soleus muscle injury since the 3-0 defeat to Chelsea, leading to him missing the games against Deportivo Alaves and Atletico Madrid.

Fermin to be assessed before Real Betis clash
However, according to Mundo Deportivo, Fermin will undergo a test today to determine whether he can return to action on Saturday when Barcelona take on Real Betis away from home.
Indeed, the midfielder, who is expected to be available against Eintracht next Tuesday, will be assessed this morning at the Ciutat Esportiva to check how his injury is progressing and whether he is in a condition to return vs Betis as preparation for the European match.

As a precaution, the coaching staff decided to give him a break to avoid bigger problems, and he missed Barcelona’s last two league fixtures against Alaves and Atletico.
Given that the Catalans have now lost Dani Olmo to an injury as well, Fermin’s return and availability become very important for Hansi Flick & co. ahead of a crucial run of fixtures.
As such, the La Masia graduate will test himself in training today to determine whether he is ready to make a comeback against Real Betis later this week.
