BYU finally got off to a quick start and controlled the game from the jump in a dominating 91-60 win over Cal Baptist Wednesday night in Salt Lake City. AJ Dybantsa and Keba Keita each led BYU with 22 points, and Keita added 14 rebounds while Dybantsa dished out 5 assists. Rob Wright had a double double with 15 points and 11 rebounds, Richie Saunders scored 12, and Kennard Davis hit three threes and finished the night with 11 points.
BYU as a team shot 55% from the floor and 39% from three while holding CBU to 26% shooting. Cal Baptist isn’t a world beater, but they are a formidable opponent. They were picked to win the WAC and were 7-1 on the season coming into the gae; they nearly pulled the upset at undefeated Colorado two nights ago. NET rankings fluctuate drastically this early in the season, but for now that is a Quad 2 win for BYU on a neutral floor.
