He reportedly filled one of his most important off-field roles Wednesday: the Wildcats' general manager.
Per a report from CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz, Stein has targeted Pat Biondo for the job. Stein and Biondo have worked together at Oregon; the former has been the Ducks' offensive coordinator since 2023, while the latter is the program's director of recruiting strategy.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementDuring Stein's introductory news conference Wednesday, he admitted he couldn't publicly identity his GM just yet.
But he was confident.
"We're going to have the best general manager in the country being here with me," Stein said.
Biondo is the second reported addition to Stein's staff.
It was reported Tuesday that Texas-San Antonio offensive coordinator Justin Burke will serve in the same capacity at UK.
