“I’m preparing to be the best version of ‘Pitbull’ Cruz that there is and make sure that the fans who spend their money get the best show possible and leave enjoying it as much as I will,” Cruz said.
Roach (25-1-2) is the current WBA super featherweight champion. He was on a six-fight win streak before facing Gervonta Davis in March for the WBA lightweight title. The two fought to a draw in a contest marred by controversy. A rematch was discussed before plans changed.
Now, Roach attempts to once again win gold in another division against someone familiar with Davis.

A 2005 World Championships gold medalist, the veteran Lara (31-3-3) is a former super welterweight champion. He won the WBA middleweight title in 2021 and has fought three times since, beating Danny Garcia last September.
