For the last month, my job – along with the entire Aussie TechRadar team – has been to find, track, and highlight the best Black Friday deals to help make your bargain hunting easier. Yet, despite spending hours finding the most impressive discounts for our audience, I somehow forgot to actually spend my own money on good deals.
But, with Cyber Monday concluding on December 1, all the best Black Friday discounts have gone up in smoke. So now I'll have to wait for early Boxing Day sales and brave the busy shops around Christmas time.

Audible Premium Plus: AU$0.99 p/m for 3 months (then AU$16.45 p/m)
This deal is set to end on December 16 – so I'm going to wait until then to subscribe – but I'll certainly grab it for dad this year. I've used Audible before, and while I initially kept it exclusively for non-fictions that I could treat like podcasts, depending on the reader it makes novels a truly incredible experience. Subscribers get access to thousands of titles, but the key feature is the ability to acquire one book a month of your choice using a token, instead of real money.

Save 20% (AU$40.50)Amazon Kindle (2024): was AU$199 now AU$158.50 at AmazonNow, I'm not made of money, but I'd been umming and ahhing over what to get mum for ages – so I just bit the bullet and splurged a little on this budget-friendly Kindle. It earned four stars in our Amazon Kindle (2024) review and this deal is available on the beautiful Matcha colourway. Featuring a bright screen, snappy performance and a simple, smooth reading (and book buying) experience, it might not be one of the best ereaders available, but I think this one suits mum the best.

Save 27% (AU$30)Frameo 10.1-inch digital photo frame: was AU$109.99 now AU$79.99 at AmazonI'm not actually sure who I'm getting this for. It could equally suit my sister-in-law, sister or girlfriend, and mum's birthday isn't too far away either. It doesn't really matter who I decide to give it to, this gift is simple – instead of framing one photo and throwing it on the mantlepiece, this device lets them showcase all their favourite photos on a slideshow. I own one, and I love it – so I'm sharing the love this year.

Save 32% (AU$39.95)PlayStation DualSense: was AU$124.95 now AU$85 at AmazonI've always been taught not to look a gift horse in the mouth, so when something my brother puts on his wishlist is 32% off, I buy it – even if I'd prefer to get a present with more thought behind it. Christmas gifts for teenage boys are hard, but this is the controller for PS5 – and the number of colours on offer here makes things easy. I've opted for the beautiful Chroma Teal, but at the time of writing you can get the same price on the Chroma Pearl, Cobalt Blue, Sterling Silver and more.

Save 47% (AU$56)Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max: was AU$119 now AU$63 at AmazonAt my recommendation, Dad just bought a year of Disney Plus at 30% off – and he'll be able to watch that on the TV in the lounge room. However, he has an older 'dumb' telly that kind of floats around from the garage to the bedroom depending on what he's doing – and I'm looking to upgrade his entertainment cheaply with this deal. Giving easy access to all the best streaming services, the Fire TV Stick 4K simply plugs in like any HDMI cable, making it one of the best Christmas gift ideas even for the most tech-ignorant.

Save 50% (AU$74)Ring Battery Video Doorbell: was AU$149 now AU$75 at AmazonIt seems like almost every week my brother and his wife are complaining about missing a delivery because they 'weren't home' even though they were – and fixing that problem for just AU$75 is an offer I couldn't refuse. Plus, this battery model is super easy to install – with no fiddling with wires required. More than just letting you say hi to the postman from afar, it detects motion and will notify you via its app when the button is pressed. It also boasts night vision and lets you record messages to greet visitors when you're actually not home. You do need a Ring Home subscription to save recordings, though.
View DealThese are just the purchases I made after realising I was falling behind in my Christmas shopping – there's plenty more to enjoy.
I have no experience with it, but I feel my niece would like this pink Digital Camera for Kids, which has many solid reviews. The Ugreen FineTrack – a third-party alternative to AirTags that works with Android and Apple – might also find itself in my girlfriend's Christmas stocking so she can stop asking me where her keys are.
And, for myself, with some trips planned for 2026, I think I'll be grabbing Anker 737 Power Bank. Our resident battery expert ranks it as the best premium power bank on the market, so I'm happy to grab it at 18% off to make sure my headphones, Nintendo Switch, phone and laptop are all ready to rock when I need them.
No matter what you're after, Amazon is still stocking some of its best Black Friday discounts, despite the sale being over. I wouldn't wait much longer, though. The next time you see prices like this, the pressure of Christmas will likely be weighing heavily on you.
