Dec. 2—JAMESTOWN — The puck wasn't bouncing the Blue Jays way on Tuesday.
The Jamestown High School girls hockey team fell 7-0 to Bismarck Century in the team's home opener on Dec. 2. The loss puts Jamestown at 0-1-1.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementWhile Century was able to net seven goals at Wilson Arena, the Jays were able to hold the Patriots to one score in the first period. Macie Vig scored off an assist from Elliana Mattson at the 5:12 mark to make it 1-0 heading into the first break.
Vig scored the Patriots' only two goals in the second period. Century had three different goal scorers notch the four scores in the third period. Jamestown goalie, Ady Bakalar made 23 saves off 30 shots faced.
Head coach Andy Fitzgerald and his crew will be back at Wilson Arena on Friday hosting Mandan. Game time is scheduled for 5 p.m.
The Blue Jay boys will also be in action later this week, taking on Minot at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 4 in the Magic City. As of Dec. 2, the Blue Jays are 1-1-0 having defeated Williston 3-0 on Nov. 22 and lost to Devils Lake 5-4 on Nov. 29.
