The Duskbloods: FromSoftware's Ambitious Switch 2 Exclusive

Leakers suggest that Bloodborne's spiritual successor is going to be more groundbreaking than we thought, and could introduce new mechanics.

The Duskbloods is one of the most highly anticipated Switch 2 game announcements so far, and is being widely considered as Bloodborne's spiritual successor since an actual Bloodborne follow-up seems unlikely. It's a very exciting new IP from FromSoftware that fans are eager to get their hands on, and it could be even bigger in scope than we thought.

According to a reliable leak, as reported by Ziostrom on YouTube, Dusk Bloods is the most ambitious FromSoft title ever created, and "has spent the longest time purely on gameplay prototyping and validation among all of their games so far."

Further, the leaker claims that the game "contains many innovative elements," suggesting that it could introduce new genre-defining mechanics and that the scope of Dusk Bloods is far bigger than anything we previously imagined.

Bloodborne Is Dead, But The Duskbloods Lives On

Fans have been hoping for a Bloodborne sequel or even a remaster/remake for over a decade now, with FromSoftware offering no indication that there's anything in the works. As such, when The Duskbloods for Switch 2 was announced, players more or less accepted that it's the closest they'll get to Bloodborne 2 for the foreseeable future.

While hopes for the next Bloodborne are more or less dead, new leaks about The Duskbloods should give fans something to get excited over. The Duskbloods is being touted as a PvEvP experience, and according to the insider, could be an even more influential title than Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, which is widely considered one of FromSoftware's crowning achievements.

The Duskbloods Is A Switch 2 Exclusive

While The Duskbloods is an extremely exciting FromSoft title, it's also a divisive one due to its Switch 2 exclusivity. It's not the first time FromSoft has launched with console exclusivity, of course, though many of its previous exclusives have obviously been for PlayStation, raising concerns over the game's potential success.

Regardless, a specific release date has not been announced, but The Duskbloods is set to launch sometime next year for the Switch 2, and will undoubtedly be one of the most talked-about games on the console.
