A new suspenseful horror series has just been added to Netflix and has hooked viewers from the start.
Based on the best-selling author’s work, Talamasca: The Secret Order is the latest series from Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe – an AMC TV franchise which adapts her novels.
The franchise began with the TV adaptation of Interview with the Vampire in 2022, followed by Mayfair Witches in 2023… and now we have more.
Talamasca: The Secret Order was released on October 26 on US channel AMC, but finally we can binge all six episodes of the series in the UK.

Netflix has added the show to its offering, kicking off the December catalogue of content.
We can expect familiar faces as characters from the other series based on Rice’s work can be spotted, but don’t necessarily expect them all to take centre stage.

John Lee Hancock and Mark Lafferty are the showrunners for the new series, which was filmed in Manchester in the autumn of 2024.
The series follows the Talamasca, a fictional secret society set across two of her books, as they continue to try and investigate paranormal activity and supernatural beings like witches, vampires and werewolves.
Viewers are introduced to this world through the character of Guy Anatole (Nicholas Denton), who ends up wound up in the group by invitation from Helen (Elizabeth McGovern).
Guy, who was initially a supernatural sceptic, is suddenly confronted with the existence of these creatures and the truths that accompany them. One of the revelations he comes to is that the voices in his head aren’t just his imagination, but in fact signify a special ability to read people’s minds.

McGovern’s character wants to harness this talent so that he can help them in the Talamasca and save others from the dangerous beings at play.
Some viewers are raving about the series, but others aren’t so sure. Tara Bennett on Rotten Tomatoes said: ‘The third Anne Rice universe TV series is an absorbing spy-esque thriller.
‘Nicholas Denton is superb as Guy Anatole.’
Ev on Google said: ‘After watching Mayfair Witches, I was convinced they didn’t even read the books.
