Rams get new offensive weapons in post-Week 12 2026 mock draft

The Los Angeles Rams will likely be picking at the beginning and end of the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. They own the Atlanta Falcons' first-round pick, which could end up anywhere around the top-10, as well as their own selection, which is currently slated to fall to the No. 31 selection.

A lot can change between now and next April, but the Rams' needs likely won't. This is a team that looks flawless at the moment, but will need to have some serious questions about the future of certain positions, such as quarterback, offensive line and cornerback. Matthew Stafford likely isn't going anywhere any time soon, but the Rams don't have a true plan for his successor at the moment.

The Draft Network's Jaime Eisner took a look at the first round ahead of the Thanksgiving slate of games in Week 13 and picked up two offensive players for the Rams at quarterback and offensive tackle. Eisner took USC quarterback Jayden Maiava with the No. 11 pick from Atlanta before drafting Iowa tackle Gennings Dunker with the teams' second first-round pick.

Matthew Stafford is still playing at a very high level, but his clock is ticking. What does the succession plan look like in Los Angeles? Whether Stafford plays in 2026 or not, the Rams need to start identifying their next franchise quarterback. I’m incredibly intrigued by Jayden Maiava. He makes throws in a game that other college QBs simply don’t—and he does it effortlessly. On top of that, the Lincoln Riley quarterback lineage is a strong track record to bet on. I believe he deserves first-round consideration.

Shoring up the right tackle spot should be a high priority for the Rams with Rob Havenstein’s contract set to expire. Gennings Dunker brings an infectious attitude and powerful blocking ability, and he’s put some impressive reps on tape this season.

Maiava is the fourth quarterback taken at this point in the draft, and the move would be all about setting Sean McVay and company up for the future. It wouldn't be a shock to see Stafford stick around for 2026, but that would only give the 21-year-old Maiava more time to develop and learn the offense.

Maiava leads the Big Ten with 3,174 passing yards this season as well as 21 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He's completed 63.6% of his career passing attempts for 7,460 total yards, 49 total touchdowns and 24 interceptions across 32 games—19 for USC and 13 for UNLV.

As Esiner wrote, Dunker would be the immediate replacement for Havenstein on the right side. And it makes sense: He's 6-foot-5, 219 pounds and played 45 career games for Iowa as a starter since 2022. It's a slam dunk pick for perhaps the Rams' biggest offensive position of need heading into 2026.
