Former UCF Knights running back RJ Harvey is one of the greatest running backs in school history. Harvey’s 3,792 rushing yards and 43 rushing touchdowns are each the second-most in UCF history. At the 2025 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos recognized Harvey’s potential and drafted him with the 60th overall pick.
So far, Harvey’s rookie season in Denver has seen some ups and downs. Heading into the Broncos’ game last night against the Washington Commanders at Northwest Stadium, Harvey had rushed for under 250 yards on the season. However, Harvey delivered for the Broncos in last night’s exciting game against the Commanders.

The Broncos got the ball to start overtime, and it began with Bo Nix completing a 12-yard pass to Harvey. To cap off the drive, Harvey scored a 5-yard rushing touchdown to put the Broncos up 27-20. Harvey’s touchdown would turn out to be absolutely pivotal.
After Harvey’s touchdown, Zach Ertz scored a touchdown to make it a 27-26 game, but the Commanders decided to attempt a 2-point conversion to win the game but failed, resulting in a Broncos win. Therefore, Harvey’s touchdown turned out to be the game-winner.

Harvey’s two touchdowns were his second multi-touchdown game of the season. It was also the sixth time that Harvey had at least 50 yards combined in a game this season.
The Broncos won their ninth consecutive game last night, and Harvey played a major role. Moving forward, Harvey could see a bigger role with Denver with his ability to contribute during crunch time.
