HAGERSTOWN — Allegany College fell to County College of Morris, 86-85, and Monroe, 91-82, at the Jim Brown Classic at Hagerstown College over the weekend.
The Trojans (4-4) led Monroe (6-3), 45-43, at the half but were outscored by 11 in the second half Sunday.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementAllegany’s Dorrell Little paced all scorers with 24 points on an efficient 11 for 15 shooting night, pulling down nine rebounds. Jaylen Brown tallied 16 points and seven assists, and Landon Somerville and Darrien Ponder ended in double figures with 14 and 13 points, respectively.
Monroe controlled the glass 40-24 and secured 15 offensive rebounds.
Six Mustangs scored in double figures: Naceiar Kirksey (23), Nehemiah McMorris (14), Nick Williams (13), Nico Pena (10), Faquir Mosley (10) and Tavien Tyler (10).
County College of Morris (7-2), New Jersey, was led by Ashley Cole’s 26 points, holding off an Allegany College squad that outscored it 52-48 in the second half.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementPonder and Elijah Hall scored a team-high 20 points for Allegany College. Alex Byrd added 13 points and Brown flirted with a triple-double with nine points, 10 assists and eight steals.
Allegany College hosts Harford on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Bob Kirk Arena.
