My family and I attended the debacle in Lincoln on Friday. There were 10 of us trying to ignore the obnoxious Iowa fans in our section (unsuccessfully) while we froze and watched an increasingly embarrassing spectacle. If anything has sealed the ranchhand’s ambivalence toward Husker football, this game was it.
The ranchhands are between 19 and 25 years old. Two of them are graduates of Dear Old NU. They and their friends are all equally numb to the idea of Husker football fandom. They don’t pay attention to the schedule or plan weekend fun around game times. They roll their eyes at us elders that act like these games matter.

The ladies have been dominant all season and appear to have room to get even better. The Big Ten was not as strong as it has been in the past but the level of play shown by this team is amazing. Coach DBK has unlocked a cheat code around team unity that is remarkable considering the level of talent and competition that exists within the program. I am excited to see what they do in the tournament!
