The San Francisco 49ers won't have kicker Eddy Pineiro on the field once again in Week 13.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementPineiro suffered a hamstring injury in the Week 11 win over the Arizona Cardinals and has not practice or played since then. Head coach Kyle Shanahan has labeled Pineiro as week to week.
With Pineiro sidelined for a second consecutive game, the 49ers will be deploying fellow veteran kicker Matt Gay in his place.
Here's what we know about Pineiro's return timeline.
When is Eddy Pineiro coming back?
Unfortunately, there is no concrete answer to this question yet.
The Niners did not place Pineiro on injured reserve, which means they do not expect him to miss more than three games.
He will have missed two as of Sunday.

Knowing that, it feels like Week 15 is a more likely return date for the veteran kicker.
Pineiro has managed to stabilize the kicker position for the 49ers after they cut ties with fellow kicker Jake Moody earlier in the season. Pineiro has made all 22 of his field goal attempts but just 18-of-22 extra points.
In his two starts in place of an injured Pineiro, Gay, who was cut by the Washington Commanders after missing six field goals this season, has knocked through both of his field goal tries and extra point attempts.
