Official: Returns & new absences as Real Madrid name squad to face Girona

The squad called upon by Xabi Alonso for Real Madrid’s upcoming clash with Girona has been unveiled online.

And it features fresh faces and absences alike.

When it comes to the former, Los Blancos have been boosted by the returns of four players. Specifically, after respective spells on the sidelines, all of Thibaut Courtois, Antonio Rüdiger, Éder Militão and Franco Mastantuono have been given the medical green light.

The news is less positive regarding Dean Huijsen, David Alaba and Dani Carvajal, though, with all three still unavailable for selection.

Fellow defender Raúl Asencio, meanwhile, has been freshly ruled out owing to a bout of illness.
