Tennessee is recruiting toward its 2028 football signing class. The Vols offered a scholarship to four-star linebacker Nehemiah McCary.
“After a great conversation with coach William Inge, I’m blessed to receive an offer from Vol football,” McCary announced.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe 6-foot-3, 220-pound prospect is from Maplesville High School in Maplesville, Alabama. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 1 linebacker in the class and No. 2 player in Alabama.
Troy was the first school to offer McCary a scholarship on Jan. 17. Other programs to offer him scholarships include Alabama State, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee State, Nebraska, Miami, Mississippi State, Auburn and Florida.
Tennessee does not have a commitment in its 2028 football recruiting class.
Tennessee has four commitments in its 2027 football recruiting class: linebacker JP Peace, cornerback Kamauri Whitfield, offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo and defensive lineman Kadin Fife.
