With all eyes on the Lane Kiffin situation, the LSU football hit the road to face the Oklahoma Sooners in Norman. LSU didn't have much to play for, but the Sooners were going for a 10th win and a spot in the College Football Playoff. LSU was just hoping to play spoiker.
But LSU couldn't finish it. A lackluster offensive performance and a late blown coverage ended the Tigers' regular season with a loss.

Michael Van Buren Jr.
This was an abysmal game for Van Buren. Entering the fourth quarter, Van Buren was 7-for-14 passing with only 18 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He did not have any answers for what the Oklahoma defense was throwing at him. On LSU's second possession of the fourth quarter, he connected on a 30-yard pass to Trey'Dez Green and then an 11-yard pass to Zavion Thomas to put the Tigers in position to take the lead with 12 minutes left.
Whit Weeks
Finally, the Captain of the defense returned this week. I know he did not lead the team in tackles or anything, but his presence on the field matters for this team. It was great to see him back out there.
Harold Perkins Jr.
Perkins stepped up in a big way this game. He finished with six total tackles, three solo tackles, half a tackle for loss, and an interception. The LSU defense played great today, and he was a huge reason why.
Zavion Thomas
Zavion Thomas was the Tigers' leading receiver tonight, and he also completed a pass for 17 yards. When Van Buren needed to find an open man, he looked for Thomas, who finished the game with three receptions for 30 yards and a touchdown.
LSU Defense
The LSU defense is the reason the Tigers were still in this game with a chance to win it late. Three interceptions against the Oklahoma offense and the ability to get your offense the ball with good field position.
