Well, we finally made it. We have reached the final game of the regular season. The Tar Heels are preparing to face off against NC State in what will provide a merciful conclusion to the 2025 season. UNC could earn a fifth win tonight that would potentially set them up for a bowl game if all of the chips fell into the right place, but there’s a 99.9% chance that it doesn’t become a reality. Realistically, the Wolfpack would love to stomp the Heels to add insult to injury, but also nothing that we’ve seen has indicated that even a high-effort performance could result in a win. Call me a pessimist, but also pessimism is married to realism sometimes.
Following this game, UNC has a lot of soul searching to do with or without Bill Belichick. If we’re all being honest with ourselves, the Super Bowl winning coach will be back for a second season, so really it’s what does that look like? Does he keep all of his other coaches? Does he make some dramatic roster changes (again)? How much of a leash is he going to be given by the school? It’s going to be a painful offseason, and that is all without getting to the painful side character that nobody asked for. You know which one.

If you decided to stay home, though, let’s scream about this game together in the comments section. As always, we will be back after the game with post-game analysis and takes. Until then, Go Heels!
