Three years after its debut, Zootopia+ is a streaming hit on Disney+. The series is an anthology consisting of six short episodes that take place in the world of Zootopia and features Judy Hopps' parents, Bonnie and Stu Hopps, Chief Bogo, Officer Clawhauser, Gazelle, Mr. Big, Flash, and other characters from the original 2016 movie.
Now, Zootopia+ is at the third spot on the Disney+ and Hulu global streaming chart. In the past week, the series has been in the top 10 for 27 different countries, including the United States, Brazil, Italy, and Nicaragua. It is no longer in the U.S. top 10, but is still third overall on the global chart.
Zootopia+ is ahead of Grey's Anatomy, Modern Family, Bluey, How I Met Your Mother, and The Kardashians in the top 10. The only shows outperforming Zootopia+ are All's Fair and the K-drama The Manipulated.
This streaming success comes the same week as Zootopia 2's theatrical release. As evidenced by Zootopia 2's positive reviews and record-breaking box office opening weekend, audiences are loving the sequel, and for those who want more, Disney+ has the perfect show.

As an anthology series made up of ten-minute episodes focused on supporting characters, Zootopia+ inevitably did not make as much of an impact as the feature-length theatrical sequel reuniting Judy and Nick Wilde. With a 100% critical score on Rotten Tomatoes, though, it is arguably an overlooked gem on Disney+.
Audiences did not like Zootopia+ as much as critics did, with the Popcornmeter score being 62%. In comparison, Zootopia 2's audience score is a "Verified Hot" 96%, and the original had a 92%.

The series expands the fictional universe beyond what audiences see in the movies, along with giving more screen time to original Zootopia characters. While it isn't a direct sequel, it is the first onscreen continuation of the story, six years after the first film and three years before Zootopia 2.
Given the theatrical sequel's commercial and critical success, along with the streaming resurgence of the spinoff anthology series, it is likely that there will be another installment. Zootopia 2's post-credits scene sets up Zootopia 3 as well.
Disney's emphasis, especially when it comes to some of its most popular IPs, is not as heavy on streaming as it was a few years ago, with theatrical movies being prioritized again. That being said, Disney+ still needs to create new content to keep subscribers, and given the franchise's popularity, that could include Zootopia 3 and Zootopia+.
