Newcastle United finally saw progress in Yoane Wissa’s recovery this week, with the striker training alongside teammates for the first time since joining the club.
Wissa damaged his posterior cruciate ligament while on international duty with DR Congo just days after completing his £55million move from Brentford.

Wissa’s comeback, however, has been hit by repeated delays, and he had not trained with Newcastle at all after the week leading up to the game against the Toffees on Saturday.
The club wants Wissa to be fully ready to make an impact on arrival, and his current workload resembles a pre-season programme.
Per Hope, Newcastle will not immediately use Wissa, but if he completes the schedule following Everton’s matchup without issues, he could be available by the time the Wear-Tyne derby arrives on December 14.
