The Dallas Cowboys just look like a different football team now.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementEarlier in the season, if you had told even Cowboys fans they would notch victories over last year's Super Bowl teams, the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs, back to back, they wouldn't have believed you.
But that is exactly what the Cowboys have done, and they've done so in impressive fashion. Dallas mounted an improbable comeback against the Eagles and then went on to completely outplay the Chiefs on Thursday afternoon.
This Cowboys team has a lot more heart and fight than we realized and the players are going to the mat for their head coach, Brian Schottenheimer, who clearly has a great connection with his players.
You need not look any further for evidence of the latter than Schottenheimer's electric postgame locker room speech after Thursday's win.
We have to be careful to not get ahead of ourselves here. There is still a long way to go and the Cowboys have a lot of work to do in terms of climbing out of the hole Dallas dug for itself earlier in the season.

If the Chicago Bears can knock off the Eagles on Friday, Dallas will be two back in the win column and one back in the loss column in the NFC East.
When it comes to the entire NFC playoff picture, Dallas currently sits in the No. 9 spot, where they'll remain if the Carolina Panthers lose on Sunday.
Looking ahead to next week, the Cowboys have yet another tough matchup against the Detroit Lions, the team sitting right in front of them in the conference standings.
