Lane Kiffin’s anticipated coaching decision has everyone predicting what's about to happen. One of the most scrutinized storylines of the college football season has drawn widespread interest across a few landscapes. Brett McMurphy from On3 polled 84 influential voices in college football, asking where they believe Kiffin will coach in 2026?

The result was overwhelmingly favorite is LSU. And our own Bill Bender agrees. McMurphy’s survey asked for predictions but allowed for creativity in responses. Overall, five destinations were thrown out with Ole Miss, LSU, Florida, Alabama, and the Tennessee Titans.

The poll included national analysts, television broadcasters, digital personalities and athletic-department decision makers. McMurphy also reached out to governors in the states most central to the sweepstakes: Mississippi’s Tate Reeves, Florida’s Ron DeSantis and Louisiana’s Jeff Landry. The Sunshine State's leader was too busy to respond.

LSU received 59 of 84 vote, with Ole Miss finished second with 17, followed by Florida with five. Several respondents cited LSU’s resources and NIL infrastructure as the most persuasive landing spot.

Ole Miss has momentum toward a potential first College Football Playoff berth. Will that change if Kiffin does head to Baton Rouge.

McMurphy said the informal consensus reflects Kiffin’s unpredictable style, which has kept the offseason guessing game alive. We'll find out soon where he future will be.
