The Vegas Golden Knights will be having to watch a lot of tape on Logan Cooley, who single-handedly put the dagger to their points streak.
On Monday, the Golden Knights had the doors blown out in a disappointing 5-1 effort against the Utah Mammoth at Delta Center.

Cooley found Dylan Guenther right in the slot, firing a wrist shot past Carl Lindbom that the rookie goaltender never saw.
Less than 80 seconds later, Guenther returned the favor and assisted on Cooley’s goal. Right off a faceoff in the neutral zone, the Mammoth were able to cut directly into the Golden Knights’ zone and got a perfect play off to beat Lindbom again and extend the lead.
Needing a strong second period to get back in the game, the Golden Knights got going on the backs of some of their hottest players. With the top line breaking in, Jack Eichel and Braeden Bowman worked together to get a shot on goal. Ivan Barbashev would find the rebound and backhand it past Vejmelka to cut the lead in half.
Unfortunately, puck management would cost the Golden Knights in the third. Eichel would make a costly turnover, giving Cooley a free breakaway. Lindbom would make the initial save, but Cooley would put in the rebound to give Utah a 3-1 lead.

Lindbom’s horrible luck to begin his career continues, with 20 saves on 23 shots as he drops his sixth straight game.
The Golden Knights now have to get right on a Thanksgiving homestand, starting on Wednesday against the Ottawa Senators.
