In a nice change of pace from the rest of 2025, the 49ers' postgame injury report against the Carolina Panthers brought rare good news.
49ers defensive end Sam Okuayinonu did suffer an ankle injury early during San Francisco's "Monday Night Football" date against Carolina. Okuayinonu tried to keep playing, but the 6-foot-1, 269-pound defensive lineman was listed as questionable to return and never did.

San Francisco had a lengthy list of inactives coming in, though. Linebacker Tatum Bethune was inactive with an ankle injury, kicker Eddy Pineiro with a hamstring injury, defensive end Robert Beal Jr. with a concussion and wide receiver Jordan Watkins, running back Jordan James, offensive lineman Connor Colby and defensive lineman Kevin Givens were all healthy scratches.
With defensive ends Nick Bosa, Mykel Williams and Yetur Gross-Matos all on injured reserve, the 49ers will hope it's good news and a quick return on Okuayinonu moving forward.
