NEBRASKA (7-4) vs. Iowa (7-4) – This Madness Must End: HOW TO WATCH

A cold, overcast day greet one of the nation’s most toxic fanbases arrival in Lincoln. Can the Huskers snag a win?

LINCOLN, NE PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT FOR 11/27/25

Obi-wan Kenobi had no idea when he was informing Luke of the dangers of Mos Eisley spaceport that he had also created the perfect way of describing Iowa City as well as the Hawkeye fan denizens who infest the far reaches of their state.

Please attempt to treat our visitors with respect in the spirit of welcome for which we are known. But – please also be aware that many of these slack-jawed freaks react badly when venturing beyond their pale world of mediocrity. Attempts to interact can go badly when one refuses to acknowledge that folk – such as discriminatory head coach Kirk Ferentz and forever-whining hoopster Caitlin Clark and her klan – are national treasures.

Failure to do so can cause their normally loud hooting and bleating noises to raise severely in volume as their faces turn distinctly pinker, and they can become violent.

When this happens, raise your trusty pepper spray which you should have on you at all times in their presence (I don’t know if a brand called Chemical Billy is still produced, but Hunter S. Thompson swore by it). Issue one to two warnings. If they still advance, uncork healthy blasts to their eyes and face until they retreat and then notify the police. Their odd noises will likely continue – in even greater volume if possible – but they should be sufficiently disabled.

Go Big Red.

The game? We’ve seen how it goes for quite awhile now, there’s no need to state the obvious about how it will unfold or what both teams need to do. The odds of history are clear and the question will be how will the Huskers react in the waning moments of a close or tied game?

The Huskers are 4-2 in one-score games in 2025, easily their best season record in such contests in quite awhile. A downside is that Dylan Raiola is unavailable and he has been nails entering the 4th quarter this season in those situations (42-55 384 yds 76.4% 5 TD’s 0 Int’s). Can they lean on Emmett Johnson, who seems to get stronger as the game goes on? Do they risk more touches for T.J. Lateef late in a series where QB’s have often been the reason for foreheads hitting bar tops in the waning moments.

Like it or not, when it comes to how 2025 is remembered and how people view the program going forward, including many of our own fans, this one just means more.

HUSKERS HAPPY HOUR

Hey, did you know we have Corn Nation podcasts every Monday, Tuesday & Thursday? Mine is every Tuesday night at 8pm CST and is called the Huskers Happy Hour…although it often goes over an hour. You can watch on Corn Nation’s You Tube Live Channel or Corn Nation Facebook or Twitter/X. An article a couple hours before the show will post with a link.

Click on the link above to check out last Tuesday’s show. Jon and Aaron joined up as we briefly reviewed the Penn State debacle, then tore into the comments for ranting discussions on a number of subjects. And, of course, insults were leveled with impunity at our disgusting neighbors in eastern Iowa.

The watchers and listeners were on point in the comments which powered discussion for a majority of the show. Pour your own cold one – or spiked coffee, we don’t judge – and give it a re-watch. Or just wait till next Tuesday. Or both!

FACTS & FIGURES

  • Emmett Johnson is the first Big Ten player to have 1,200 rushing yards and 40 receptions in a season since 2017. Penn State’s Saquon Barkley and Northwestern’s Justin Jackson both reached those milestones in 2017.

  • Before kickoff on Friday, Nebraska will honor 19 seniors playing their final game in Memorial Stadium. The group includes a seventh-year senior, three sixth-year seniors and 11 fifth-year seniors. Eight of the players spent their entire career at Nebraska.

  • Friday’s game marks the 36th consecutive season Nebraska has played on Black Friday, including 15 consecutive matchups with Iowa on the Day after Thanksgiving. The Huskers own a 20-15 record on Black Friday since 1990.

  • Nebraska met Oklahoma in the final six seasons of the Big Eight Conference (1990 to 1995), then played Colorado in all 15 of the Huskers’ Big 12 Conference years (1996 to 2010), before taking on Iowa each of the 15 seasons it has been a Big Ten member, including this year.

  • Eight members of the senior class have spent their entire career at Nebraska, including linebackers Javin Wright and Michael Booker III, offensive linemen Turner Corcoran, Henry Lutovsky and Teddy Prozachka, defensive backs Derek Branch and Marques Buford Jr. and tight end Heinrich Haarberg. Safety DeShon Singleton has spent his entire four-year FBS career at Nebraska.
