It didn't look great for the New Orleans Saints on a Sunday in Week 12 against the Atlanta Falcons for many reasons. Not only did the team lose 24-10, but Alvin Kamara went down with what seemed to be a serious knee injury.

According to the latest reports, it isn't as big an injury as some had suspected early on.

According to Nick Underhill, he has an MCL sprain, but he avoided a significant injury, and they'll see how it progresses. It could take a good bit of time, but it isn't anything threatening long-term.

“Alvin Kamara has an MCL sprain, according to a source. Avoided a major injury, but we'll see how it progresses. He could take a little time, but nothing that's super serious or threatening long term. Hard to know how long. Alvin and his team often beat timelines,” he wrote.

Kamara has dealt with his fair share of injuries throughout his career, and with the Saints being 2-9 on the year, it frankly might be better to just hold him out for the remainder of the season, depending on how he feels in a few weeks.

He only had three carries before this, rushing for just 11 yards.

There's a strong argument to be made that this has been Kamara’s worst season as a professional, averaging just 3.6 yards per carry and posting 471 yards.

The 3.6 yards per carry would be by far the fewest of his career, and he only has one rushing touchdown.
