Manchester United and Arsenal are two of the clubs that can activate the £44 million release clause of Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy, according to German outlet Sport Bild. The 6ft 2in Frenchman wants to leave the Bundesliga club in the summer, and Man United could do with his services at the Old Trafford club. Arsenal already splashed the cash to sign Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP last summer and are unlikely to sign another top striker anytime soon.

Guirassy has been involved in 60 goals since last term and is now looking to prove himself elsewhere. A move to the Premier League could appeal to the 29-year-old France-born Guinea international, but Man United and Arsenal are not the only clubs that can sign him for £44m. His release clause is also valid for Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Barcelona. He has nine goals and four assists in 17 games this term after ending last season with 38 goals and nine assists in 50 appearances.

The Red Devils signed Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko in the summer, but he has struggled to hit the ground running, with two goals and one assist to his name in 12 games.

Man United manager Ruben Amorim could look to stick with him for one more reason, but it should not stop the club from going for Guirassy.
