If you're looking for something new to play that won't break the bank, Xbox has dropped a brand-new game that's 100 percent free. That means no Game Pass required at all, just download and play.

While there's certainly plenty on Xbox Game Pass to be getting on with at the moment (we can't keep up with all the bangers), this latest game is free in every sense of the word. It's also set to be a very lucrative game for any achievement hunters out there.

Card Storm Idle Is Completely Free Right Now

Perfect if you're after a higher Gamerscore

Card Storm Idle is auto-battler card game developed and published by Hyperbeam Games. It also happens to be free on Steam if you'd rather play it over there, but if you do, you'll miss out on all those juicy achievements.

As pointed out by PureXbox, you can grab a pretty easy 3000G in achievements if you get the possible 1000g across the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows versions of the game. That sounds like a dreadfully dull way to spend a day to me, but I know people love racking up those points.

Here's the game in a nutshell:

"Dive into a thrilling incremental experience that blends idle progression with active strategy. In Card Storm Idle, every click and card choice brings you closer to ultimate power. Start your journey by tapping monsters to defeat them and collect gold. Use your loot to unlock powerful cards and upgrade your damage output. Strategize your deck by combining Relics and Cards into unique archetypes that suit your playstyle. Choose active cards to amplify your clicks, or build an idle deck that fights for you while you sit back and watch the chaos unfold."

Given Card Storm Idle is, well, an idle game, getting all the achievements takes minimal effort. Again, not how I'd choose to beef up my score, but to each their own.

The Game Has Mixed Reviews, Despite The Achievements

Don't say we didn't warn you

It's worth noting, and I'm sure you won't be surprised to learn this, that Card Storm Idle isn't exactly a critical darling. Over on Steam the game has an average rating of 6/10, with many calling the game "shallow."

Given most Xbox gamers are probably just going to be downloading this to grab the achievements and then never think about it again, shallow is probably fair enough. But hey, if you like it, that's great for you.
