Happy Thanksgiving, Cougar Nation! BYU Basketball is in Orlando looking to feast on Miami Thursday afternoon. BYU and Miami are facing each other as part of the Terry’s Chocolate ESPN Events Invitational. BYU is part of the ‘Magic’ bracket, along with Miami, Dayton, and Georgetown. Depending on results, BYU will face either of the latter two teams on Friday night.
The BYU Cougars go into the game with Miami with a 4-1 record. BYU most recently played on Fri. Nov. 21 at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City against the Wisconsin Badgers. It was a statement win for the Cougars with a final score of 98-70 over the top-25 team.

Miami won that game on its home court in Coral Gables by a final score of 97-41. The Hurricanes one loss came against the no. 10 Florida Gators. Miami’s other 4 wins are against Jacksonville, Bethune-Cookman, Stetson, and Elon.
Thursday’s game marks the fifth all-time meeting between BYU and Miami, with the latest matchup coming back in 1989. The Cougars lost that one, but are tied 2-2 in the series with the Canes.
