What should we think of the Boston Celtics' retooling season so far? The Celtics moved on from much of the 2024 NBA title core this offseason by trading away vets Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis, and letting big men Al Horford and Luke Kornet walk in free agency.
In their place, the front office drafted Hugo Gonzalez, Amari Williams, and Max Shulga, brought on Anfernee Simons in the Holiday deal, and signed Chris Boucher, Luka Garza and Joe Mazzulla as replacements with upside (and cheaper contracts). At the same time, deep rotation players like Jordan Walsh, Baylor Scheierman, and especially Neemias Queta have been asked to play bigger roles. Is this the right call for Boston to find the needed pieces of their next contention squad?
