The Carolina Panthers will have to take the recovery of cornerback Jaycee Horn one step at a time.
Horn made an early exit from Monday night's 20-9 loss to the San Francisco 49ers due to a concussion. The Pro Bowl defender, who recorded a pair of interceptions in the defeat, is in concussion protocol and was officially listed as a non-participant for Wednesday's walkthrough.

"The short week does have a significant factor in it," Canales told reporters following today's session. "And again, we just have to go through the right protocol and make sure that they're clearing each hurdle along the way."
Carolina has since signed a handful of defenders as insurance for Week 13—including cornerbacks Robert Rochell and David Long as well as linebackers Isaiah Simmons and Krys Barnes, who has been promoted from the practice squad.
