We all have things we want from our phones, but great battery life is usually pretty high on everyone's list. Being able to use a phone for days is something most people never think about, but it is possible with the right hardware. While we didn't love the Moto G Power at its original $300 price, the steep discount from Amazon ahead of Black Friday that brings it down to just $123 definitely makes it worth taking a look at.
It's not for everyone
Look, just to be clear, there are going to be sacrifices that need to be made if you're looking to get a phone with impressive battery life. The good news is that for everyday use, the Moto G Power can handle pretty much everything you throw at it.
You get a phone powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7020 chip that's plenty fast and also allows for 5G connectivity. The phone also features a large 6.7-inch 120Hz display, 8GB of RAM, along with 128GB of storage that can be expanded using a microSD card.
Impressive battery life is what makes it a winner
The combination of the above, along with the 5,000mAh battery is what allows the phone to last so long on a single charge. Most folks will easily be able to get two days, and some even longer. But, it will all depend on how you use your phone. The good news is that if you need to top up, the phone does support 30W charging, which will minimize downtime.
There is a dual camera setup on the rear, with a 50MP main camera and 8MP ultrawide. While you won't be impressed with the quality, it'll get the job done. And while it's somewhat rare to see, there's also a 3.5mm audio jack that will allow you to connect audio accessories if you want to go wired. Overall, you're getting a phone that can handle day-to-day tasks without issue.
But the main appeal here is going to be the battery life, as it always has been with the G Power series. While I've never touched this model, I did get some time with the 2023 version, and it did everything I needed it to do. It felt good being away for a weekend and not having to plug in or worry about battery life.
And at the price of just $123, you really can't ask for much more. It's an absolute no-brainer. While you might not want it as a daily driver, this one would be a great one to pick up for emergencies. Just keep it in your car or in an emergency kit and have it ready to go when you need it most.
