Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment's Massive Thanksgiving Update Revealed

The Legend of Zelda series is constantly popping up, whether it's spinoffs or mainline entries, and Nintendo has a surprise in store for fans.

It seems like no matter what, The Legend of Zelda is always relevant. Whether it's constant talk of Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom (including the Switch 2 re-releases), or spinoffs, the series is always in the spotlight.

That includes the newest Zelda game, which is getting a massive update, as detailed on the game's official Japanese site. It'll arrive just in time for Thanksgiving tomorrow.

The Legend Of Zelda Fans Rejoice

Free Content Is Always Great

Zelda Light Attack Against Red Enemy

Even though it just came out, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment is getting its second major update on November 27, 2025. Thankfully, it comes with a ton of quality of life changes, bug fixes, and even some extra content.

Here is everything the free version 1.0.2 update is going to add:

  • New challenges to take on in the world map, including new materials
  • Additional weapons like a greatsword of light and another spear
  • A new sync strike (team-up attack) for Zelda and Calamo
  • A Block Golem team-up
  • The training room has a character and weapon selection menu now
  • Bug fixes (including fixes for Share communication and two player split-screen play)

Among all these updates, the added quality of life in the training room is a big bonus. It'll be nice to select whatever character and weapon you want to try out right off the bat, instead of going through additional menus to make it happen. There are so many character and weapon combos in this game, so being able to try them all more conveniently is fantastic.

If you've been having issues with multiplayer, this patch might fix your problems. The patch addresses bugs for both Share communication and split-screen play, including a bug that boots players back to the world map after retrying a mission.

Getting update 1.0.2 this soon, with so many added bonuses, is a huge boon for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment. The game is already fantastic and performs well, so a ton of work wasn't needed to overhaul anything, but it's appreciated nonetheless.

Hyrule Warriors games tend to live on for many years, especially for fans of the genre, so updates like these will help preserve the game's legacy. In this series, where grinding can make or break any given game, adding more quality of life helps everything go much smoother.
