Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Venom: Black, White, and Blood #4
Venom's new series has revealed a secret side story we should absolutely see in Spider-Man 4. As seen in Marvel's new Venom: Black, White, & Blood series, an unseen chapter between the Venom symbiote and a past host has been revealed, and it could have some very cool ramifications for the MCU.
At the moment, no version of Venom has been confirmed for Spider-Man: Brand New Day releasing in 2026. However, fan hopes are high, especially with the confirmed return of a key villain who hasn't been seen since 2017 in the MCU: Mac Gargan's Scorpion (Michael Mando).
Marvel Comics Reveals An Unseen Chapter With Scorpion & Venom
In Marvel's new Venom: Black, White & Blood #4, the short story "Stuck on You" by Rick Douek and Robert Gill features an unseen chapter in Venom's past, taking place at some point after Eddie Brock and the symbiote were reunited following Gargan's time as Venom.
Gargan first became Venom during the "Sinister Twelve" storyline, eventually becoming both a Thunderbolt and a member of Norman Osborn's Dark Avengers. Wanting the power of the symbiote back, Scorpion is shown in this new story attacking Eddie Brock with sonic weapons, detaching him from Venom and rebonding with the powerful symbiote. However, things didn't go the way Gargan planned.
Venom tells a confused Gargan that it had blocked out key memories of their time together...like when they ate brains. Confirming that no other host did it better, Gargan is absolutely horrified by this reveal, believing he had always been in control of the symbiote.
Having disregarded the symbiote's own sentience and autonomy, Gargan leaves the symbiote to Eddie Brock, rejecting the power he assumed he had been in full control over. He had never been in a true partnership with the alien symbiote, as it had always had a secret hand on the wheel.
Scorpion's MCU Return in Spider-Man 4 Should Absolutely Include This Venom Dynamic
Michael Mando as Mac Gargan talking to Vulture in Spider-Man Homecoming's Scorpion tease
Keeping this new Scorpion/Venom story in mind, it would be pretty awesome to see a similar dynamic in Spider-Man 4 with Scorpion's imminent MCU return.
Set to be a key villain seeking revenge on Tom Holland's Spider-Man after nearly a decade, Gargan seeking greater power to take on the Webslinger could easily lead to a similar arc where the discovery of an MCU Venom symbiote could lead to him similarly disregarding the symbiote own autonomy, eventually losing full control over the symbiote as the movie progresses.
Whether or not Gargan simply dons Scorpion armor or undergoes a full transformation with a symbiote, this new Marvel Comics is an awesome new chapter to the original character's time as Venom.
